Introducing Case Manager Nailia

This week we welcomed Nailia who started her new role as a Case Manager at

St John’s Care. She writes:

“ In the past I have worked for various community organisations and have truly enjoyed the journey, but St John’s Care is special – it’s a place where everyone matters.”

Nailia grew up in Eastern Europe and came to Australia 20 years ago. For the past two years she worked as an Assessment and Support Coordinator for Woden Community Service, their mental health NDIS and Onelink program. Prior to that she lived in Sydney and worked as a family counsellor, case manager and group workshop facilitator.

She has always had a passion for helping individuals to build resilience. “ Building resilience can’t happen overnight and resilience is especially difficult to focus on if one is in an emergency situation. Resilience starts with a stable foundation and if there is no food to eat or a pile of unpaid bills on a person’s table, taking care of these things becomes a priority.

We must meet our clients at their point of need. This is when Emergency Relief from organisations like St John’s Care becomes paramount, “ she said.

Developing strong and vibrant communities is another passion Nailia talks about. An important part of her role as a Case Manager will be to help break the cycle of trauma and disadvantage that our clients face. As a trained counsellor she hopes to continue working with individuals and families who are struggling in one way or another.

“I very much look forward to our journey together with my colleagues, volunteers and the many supporters of St John’s Care”.
