Celebrating 30 Years
Launch of “Celebrating 30 Years – A history of St John’s Care”
On Sunday the 23rd May St John’s Care celebrated 30 years of service to the Canberra Community. To mark this occasion friends, volunteers, donors and staff gathered first in the historic Anglican Church of St John’s Reid for a thanksgiving Anniversary Service, led by the Rev’d Cannon Margaret Emil. The service was followed by afternoon tea in the Parish hall and the launch of the history, “Celebrating 30 Years – A history of St John’s Care” by the Rev’d Canon Paul Black. The history chronicles the growth and development of SJC and acknowledges the dedicated service and support of so many.
The Birthday Cake was cut by the Rev’d Elaine Gifford, the first Director, and Jason Haines the present Acting Executive Officer.
The occasion provided the opportunity to reflect on the past and renew friendships as we look to the future.
